Motivation for the Week

Life is hard. Adulting is hard. Being young can also be hard. It’s imperative to take time and appreciate yourself, appreciate your small wins, your big wins, your failures, and everything in between. You must teach yourself happiness. True happiness doesn’t come from things or other people, it comes from within. As cliché as that sounds, it’s true. Being happy with yourself helps you weather all the storms that come your way. You’re still going to have moments where you feel beaten down but being in love with yourself and happy with yourself helps you bounce back faster.

It’s not always an easy road to achieving self love.

First, you have to accept it’s going to be a lot of conscious work. You’ll have to remind yourself to speak kind words every day to yourself. You’ll have to remind yourself when you fail that it’s okay. You’ll have to remind yourself to dust off and keep moving forward after you fail. You’ll have to remind yourself to look out for those small wins and celebrate them. You’ll have to remind yourself that people may not celebrate or notice your wins, big or small and that’s okay. You’ll have to remind yourself that you have to be your biggest cheerleader. You’ll have to remind yourself that not everyone will believe in your dreams so keep pushing till those doors open. You’ll have to remind yourself that you’re the only person that holds the key to your dreams so protect it and use it wisely. You’ll have to remind yourself on those days you feel like hating on yourself or feeling so discouraged, that you’re a gem and you’re special.

Talk to your mind and heart constantly, they feed off what you tell them, so strictly keep it nice and positive.
